What is stored

If you join the list: your email address, the page you came from, and the time you signed up. If you buy: your email address, the Stripe checkout session id and payment reference, the amount paid, and — once you connect it for repository access — the numeric id and username of the GitHub account you chose, with the state of its invitation. Connecting shows us that account's public profile and nothing else; the sign-in token GitHub issues is used once and not kept.

What is not

No advertising pixels and no cross-site trackers. Google Analytics runs on every page, the documentation included, and tells us which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, which device and browser they use, and whether a visit reached the checkout, paid, or joined the list. It does not tell us who you are: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and we have switched off Google Signals and ads personalisation, so nothing here feeds an advertising profile. It sets two cookies, _ga and_ga_*, which tell one visit from the next for up to two years. Two more cookies of our own exist, neither for tracking: one remembers which affiliate link you followed, for 60 days; the other lives ten minutes while you connect a GitHub account after buying. To opt out, block those cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on; the site works the same without them.

Who else sees it

Stripe processes payments and holds the billing data required for that. Cloudflare hosts the site, the database, and delivers the email, and counts page views and page speed without cookies (Cloudflare Web Analytics). GitHub receives the username of the account you connect, as a repository invitation. Google receives the analytics events described above, under its own privacy policy. Nobody else.

Your data, removed

Email hi@zerodirs.com and your address is deleted from the list. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
